MEET LAUREN

Lauren Hannaford was an elite gymnast, athlete and coach for over 20 years and is the creator and founder of the online fitness program FHIT. Over the years she’s helped to transform thousands of people’s lives and, as a new mum, Lauren is embracing new challenges and helping other mummas-to-be in their own journey with fitness throughout their pregnancy.

As a qualified personal trainer, Lauren loves seeing the positive impact that exercise and healthier life choices can have on a whole family. Having recently given birth to her first child – a beautiful baby boy – FHIT-natal is the start of a new chapter for Lauren. Taking her knowledge and experience of fitness and channelling her endless passion and enthusiasm for helping others into FHIT-natal to provide her first-hand experience of trying to conceive, pregnancy and recovery after birth.

FROM LAUREN, TO YOU

As an elite gymnast, I‘ve always had to be physically and mentally strong. From a young age I was lucky enough to learn how the body responds to physical exercise and how it functions at its best. I always felt that physically there was nothing I couldn’t achieve, if I set my mind to it.

When my husband Simon and I decided we wanted to start a family, I didn’t expect it to be a challenge, but it turns out, for us, falling pregnant was a whole other ball game. I started experimenting with my training and changed the way I exercised.

From that the Foundations program of both FHIT by Lauren Hannaford and FHIT-natal was born. It’s a much slower form of exercise and really nurtures your body and, in my case, helped me prepare my body to fall pregnant.

I’ve been completely in awe of how my body has changed throughout my pregnancy and have really tried to cherish every moment and appreciate how extraordinary our bodies are.

I understand that every pregnancy and postnatal recovery is different so I created a range of workouts with exercises tailored for each trimester and a twelve week postnatal program once baby has arrived.

You’ll also spot my sister in law, Kyra, in some of the workout videos. Our due dates were only one week apart, and you’ll see her demonstrating modified versions of the exercises throughout the workouts. Kyra was pregnant with her second child while I was doing it all for the first time and it was amazing to go through that journey together. With FHIT-natal, I want to be that support for you too.

I created FHIT-natal as a way to help you exercise regularly throughout your pregnancy and understand the importance of getting your fitness back after your baby is born, You can do it from the comfort of your own home and at a time that works for you and your changing body. Having just gone through my own pregnancy journey, I know that each day is different, that you need to be gentle with yourself, listen to your body and only do what you can manage on any given day. It’s such a beautiful time and when you keep active and make healthy choices you really feel like you are making the right decisions for you and your growing baby. Then once baby has arrived it’s so important to find some time to focus on you to help get your pre baby body and fitness back.


FHIT-NATAL (pregnancy) MEMBERSHIP INCLUDES

  • PRE-PREGNANCY – 15 min low impact workouts focussing on your general health and wellbeing with an added focus on core strength for pregnancy.
  • 1ST TRIMESTER – 20 min low-mid intensity workouts focussing on all over body strength and cardio fitness.
  • 2ND TRIMESTER – 20 min low intensity workouts specific to physical needs and changes during the 2nd Trimester with a focus on pelvic floor exercises.
  • 3RD TRIMESTER – 15 min low intensity/low impact workouts with a focus on pelvic floor exercises and exercises for abdominal separation (Diastasis recti).
  • FHIT-natal check in – for your photo and diary entries.
  • Blogs – tips, inspiration and questions answered.
  • Facebook FHIT-natal Community Group.

POSTNATAL MEMBERSHIP INCLUDES

  • 12 WEEK PROGRAM – All workouts are 15-25 minutes. The perfect length to workout during your baby’s sleep cycle.
  • STAGE 1 (3 weeks) – 15 min low impact movements focussing on your general health and wellbeing to simply get you moving again.
  • STAGE 2 (3 weeks) – 20 min low intensity workouts focussing on building back your core & pelvic floor strength and overall fitness.
  • STAGE 3 (6 weeks) – 25 min low-mid intensity workouts to get you back to everyday exercise with specifically tailored workouts focussing on Cardio, Resistance, Core, Mobility, Upper Body and Lower body.
  • Physiotherapy – Information, exercises and check-ins with Women’s Health Physiotherapist Madison Cutmore.
  • Nutrition – Meal guides, recipes and tips from Nutritionist and Nourishing Bubs CEO, Olivia Bates.
  • Postnatal check-in – for your photos and diary entries.
  • Blogs – tips, inspiration and questions answered.
  • Facebook FHIT-natal Community Group.
